Evening Stage at the Marina 25th August 2012
Saturday 25th August 5.45 – 9.40pm
Enjoy a great night of musical entertainment for all the family and not forgetting the highlight of the evening at 9.30pm, our Fireworks display. Our Marina Food court and outdoor seating throughout makes the evening complete. Entry is free.
Evening Concert Programme
East Dunbartonshire band ‘The Turn’ open the night with a selection of popular 60s, 70s and 80s classics. This mature six-piece group only assemble for special occasions and do so just for fun. A great way to ease us into the evening’s programme.
The Euan Stevenson Quintet
Euan Stevenson is very well respected Jazz pianist within the music industry. Although classically trained, his love of Jazz shines through when performing and touring with his band. The Euan Stevenson Quintet are currently on tour but agreed to make time in their busy schedule to perform at the Kirkintilloch Canal Festival this year.
Swede Dreamz (Abba Tribute Band)
Dust down your platforms and glam attire as we celebrate the Abba era in style. Swede Dreamz are one of the country’s best Abba tribute bands and invite you to join in the song, dance and colour of the magical 70s.
Bruce Game is Freddie Mercury (Queen Tribute)
The music of Queen is loved by all ages and there is not a better way to lead us into our ‘Fireworks Finale’. Bruce Game is one of the country’s most recognised and respected ‘Freddie Mercury tribute acts’ and, along with our special stage lighting show, will entertain us all.
Fireworks Finale (Music written and performed by Greg Friel)
Last year’s (2011) Fireworks Finale boasted a first for this festival event by accompanying the fireworks with a live performance of a specially written piece of music as we celebrated a special year in ‘Kirkintilloch 800’. Local composer, musician and music producer Greg Friel is back again this year with a new composition that will also be performed live.
