WWT London Wetland Centre celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2010. Come and meet the secret stars of the reserve close up – birds of prey, otters, bats and hedgehogs to name a few! Visit the centre to see the abundant wildlife and the extent of a decade of changes at this old reservoir site. There will be a full programme of celebrations taking place on 29 May – 6 June with daily activities, animal displays, walks, talks and events centred on the centre’s wildlife inhabitants. Fitness for new mums looking to get back into shape in a fun and sociable environment with a qualified instructor (bring your baby in the buggy).
£6 per session (£4 for members) price includes admission into the centre.

Every weekend and all through the school holidays the London Wetland Centre is a hive of activity for our young visitors. With a packed programme of events each day you can discover the centre’s amazing wildlife and learn weird and wonderful facts with the education team’s regular pond dips, wildlife walks, arts & crafts and trails. Introduction to bird watching
This practical introductory course will help you identify different birds and to understand more about them. An expert warden will guide you around the wildlife reserve. The course will focus on birds currently on site, their plumage, calls and behaviour. You’ll get tips on how to watch birds including how to behave, what to listen out for, and the differences between key species. The walk lasts for an hour and a half, followed by breakfast in our café. 9.30am -11.00am. £20. Price includes breakfast. Booking is essential; call 020 8409 4400, maximum 10 people. Bring your own binoculars/telescope where possible. Price does not include admission to the centre.
13 and 21 March
Wildlife walk with an expert: 2pm
Tour the wildlife reserve for an hour with one of the centre’s experts and find out about seasonal birds and other wildlife. Learn how the wildlife reserve is managed in order to attract a rich diversity of species. Supported by the City Bridge Trust.
20, 21, 27 and 28 March
Easter Egg watch
Join an Egg Watch to follow the progress of the eggs with a talk by an expert warden, see the ducklings growing INSIDE the shells using special egg candling techniques and learn about the development of ducklings. Visitors can come back in April to see the chicks hatch and take their first wobbly steps. Dates and times are dependent on when our ducks start laying! Check website for details nearer the time.
