For the first time ever and just for kids the London Wetland Centre proudly presents Summer Sleepovers. An amazing night in the wild, exploring the animals and the elements in a safe environment and under the supervision of the qualified and trained education team. Each night has its own special theme: moths, bats and planets and stars.
The Sleepovers run from 6pm-9am (next day), maximum 15 children, 8-14 year olds and will cost £45 (to be booked and paid in advance).
Programme outline:
18.00: Arrival, settling in & registration – ice breaking games and badge making
19.00: Great Pond Safari on the big pond
Then follows a different set of activities each night
09.30: Parents pick up children
Bats – Thursday 21st August
20.00 Bat presentation in the AV Theatre-everything you ever wanted to know about bats!
20.40 Snack time (Each child brings their own)
21.00 Bat Bonkers-looking at bat behaviour through games; Arts and Crafts making bat masks, rings and flying twisters
21.30 Bat Walk – walk with bat detectors to find out who's making ultra sounds at night
22.30 Stories and bed time (Waters Edge Room)
07.00 Wake up for an early bird walk
08.00 Breakfast
09.00 Finishing Arts and Crafts to take home
Planets and Stars – Thursday 4th September
19.30 It's revolving! Learning about our universe through talks and games
20.40 Snack time (Each child brings their own)
21.00 Arts & Crafts – making rockets, telescopes or mobiles
21.45 Star gazing with telescopes and binoculars
22.30 Stories and bed time (Waters Edge Room)
